Mission Description

The RACCOON In-Orbit Demonstration (IOD) will launch four 3U CubeSats, each equipped with a novel software-defined radio (SDR) payload developed in the RACCOON Proof-of-Concept project. Flying as a coordinated formation, the CubeSats will perform signal triangulation experiments, showcasing advanced techniques for secure and resilient satellite communications. This mission marks the first space-based validation of the RACCOON technology and lays the foundation for future constellations enabling trusted space infrastructure.

RACCOON OS Usage

RACCOON OS will be deployed on two key elements of the mission: the SDR payload computer and the cybersecure long-term memory unit developed by Quantum Galactics GmbH. By running the same trusted operating system across both platforms, the mission demonstrates how RACCOON OS enables secure, modular, and resilient satellite software:

From real-time signal processing to long-duration data storage in space!
